5cmpersec asked: Challenge:
Place "sensual biological chemical extract of perfection" in one your poems. This can
span multiple lines, or be one line in and of itself.
I must admit, my first reaction was blank shock. Where in the world did you find this phrase? Anything I thought of made me want to bash my head into the desk until I forgot I’d even thought it. But here is a little poem I whipped together—I couldn’t take it seriously. Just…no. But I couldn’t separate it either.
LabLove
The way you handle your pipette
Makes me absentmindedly pull too hard on my bright purple nitrile gloves
And snap them against my wrist painfully in reminder
Your glasses refract the blue Transilluminator in the mystic amber-colored darkness
But as you turn towards me it makes your eyes glow
And I feel like the fume hood has stolen my breath away
I’m jealous of the eppendorf tube you grip gently but firmly
Wish you’d snap me open with one-handed deftness
And with such elegance and unshaking limbs
Place in me your precisely measured seven-hundred-fifty microliters
Of sensual biological chemical extract of perfection
I want to see the corner of your lips turn up slightly
As you give me a quick vortex and a spin-down
In satisfaction of a job well done.
Ok now can you erase my memory?
